What's New!

Where I'll be the next few weeks...

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

So who’s going Off-Broadway? THIS GIRL! Oh yeah, yours truly is headed to 42nd Street this coming fall to reprise my role as the “Rose” in The Little Prince. I leave for NYC for a 3 week run at the world famous New Victory Theater. After that, the show continues its mini-tour to Cleveland, Ohio for another 6 days. Sadly, I will be unavailable for camera, print and voice over work for much of this time (Sept 28th-Oct 22nd) but I do have a few days off here and there so if you need me for any work or auditions, I might be able to come through. If you didn’t catch it before, plan a trip to NY for you and your family since this is a multi-ages show! For more information, please visit the New Victory online.

As excited as I am about my future endeavors, I’m also proud of all the work I’ve done this past year. I’ve been so lucky to have a lot of commercial spots running, including the latest, and ever elusive, PA Lottery. Thank you Philly Casting for bringing me in on this one. Jim McGorman of Accordian Films directed the spot and he is just awesome! Any director who provides me with an Italian opera soundtrack to work to is a-okay in my book. And despite slicing my finger on the second take of the day and the ridiculous amount of blood that came from said cut, it was still a great shoot. Fortunately, I did leave with all 10 fingers. And when you have a long day on set, having people like Lee Cado, Eden Daniels, Eric Scheiner and the adorable Jen Hughes around, just makes the day that much better.

I’m happy to announce that the episode I shot I earlier this year of “What Would You Do?” on ABC will be airing this October. Exact date TBD but I’ll keep you posted. New daddy, Art Rublucava directed this episode we shot in a Long Island diner. Look for fellow actor and friend, Victor Velez, who for once, is not playing my husband. This time he’s playing my boss. I know I left that one wide open...

Yet another huge thanks to one of my favorite directors, Pete Safran of SAI Global who continues to offer me international vocal challenges for his corporate ethics videos.

My steady work at True Action as a petite model is always a joy. Dana DeRogatis, Lisa DiSantis, Lauren Raske and Jonathan Schimpf are such a pleasure to work with.

Some of you may be catching my Susquehanna Bank commercial that’s out right now. The wonderful Scott Whitham directed that one with the likes of Claudio Kuhn, Lee Cado, Eden Daniels and Eric Scheiner, to name a few of the movie-magic people who make us actors look good.

The great thing about being in this business is that even though I’ve been in it for over 20 years, there is always room for a first time experience. This year, I did my first LIVE medical conference. It was a 2-day spokesperson job for an AORN convention. Thanks to sound man extraordinaire, Dave Winston, I learned how to use an ear prompter! Fortunately, I took to it easily and got through the experience with flying colors!

I want to thank Neill Hartley for my periodic gig with the University of Penn’s Bioethics Dept where I work with some of Philly’s finest actors doing live, improvisational medical scenarios for their mediation classes. It never fails to be a unique and rewarding experience.

Big thanks to the folks at PDG for continuing to call me in for their corporate and pharmaceutical video work. Always enjoy working with Dave Darrow and his crew over there.

I got to work with Michael Boornazian and Alice Kostenko on a “Pennies in Action” video. It was a first for me at Media Active, Inc. and I hope there will be more in the future.

I had a great opportunity to shoot at the studio at The American College with Chris Palo a few months ago where I did some of the college’s informational videos as well as one for The Wealth Channel. I’m sure you’re ALL watching The Wealth Channel these days. Ironically, I didn’t even know there was such a thing.

Perhaps you caught my radio spot for Coppertone with the lovely Merideth Orlow and the charming Charlie Roney where I played an irresponsible mother who forgot her kid’s sun block. Thank you Rob Maloney for knowing just how to get the best read out of me and to Rob Holt, of the brand spanking new voice over casting agency, Voice Box, for bringing me to audition for it in the first place.

I had the opportunity to work again with great guy, Bill Nicolletti from Visual Innovations on a series of catholic video vignettes. Loved the character I got to play – a feisty, no bullshit lawyer type (big stretch, I know) who busts the slacker online shopaholic employee. Pleasure to work with Bob Heath on this one. There were a lot of actors cast for this series of vignettes and we have Heery Casting to thank for making it happen.

I stopped by Knowledge Start a few times this year to work with Bryan Yingst and Vania Mathas at their friendly and beautiful studio building.

I had the pleasure of working with the talented people of Allied Pixel, including Tom Shustack as DIRECTOR (oh yes, he’s not just a great cameraman, he directs too!) on a Pfizer shoot where I played a social worker dealing with parents of children with hemophilia.

Speaking of Allied Pixel, on different occasion I got to work with another great guy over there, Bill Haley! Thank you Brian Connor for making the introduction. FINALLY, I got to work with Mr. Haley himself! We did an extremely long, but remarkably smooth shoot, for Genesis Healthcare where I played the HR spokesperson for their in-house employee video. You would not believe the amazing benefits this company offers. I was ready to quit my job as the spokes, and become a physical therapist for Genesis! I mean, pet insurance…they have PET INSURANCE! Great to work with Paul Trumbore, Tom Shustack and Jeff Cornell, as well as the other AI crew again too.

Another exciting gig I had this summer was for Winner Airport Parking. It was a tough one since most of it was exterior and it was during one of those really hot weeks we had, but miraculously, we pulled it off and the video came out great. Frank Cerami and Vince Ellis shot and directed this one. What a team!

Thank you Pete Coe for putting the likes of Sharon Geller, Paul Monte, Jerry Rudasill and myself on the same shoot for a financial institute industrial. It gave new meaning to, “long night” but we were happy to pull together and get this video made.

Not too long ago, I got to play a life-partner to local actress, Lisa Kobak in a virtual law office video and damn if we didn’t play the cutest couple trying to get our wills in order. Produced by the nice people at Fabian-Baber.

So there you have it folks…another great year of work and lots of exciting things to look forward to in the future. Hope you all continue to be a part of it! As always, I truly appreciate our local casting agencies - Heery Casting, Mike Lemon Casting, Philly Casting, and Voice Box for continuing to bring exciting and lucrative work to our area. Also, congratulations to Adrienne Covington on her new venture with Overbrook Casting. It will be great to see what wonderful things come along there! Thank you also to the ladies of the Reinhard Agency and Peter Coe Talent for working hard to make sure I get seen for all these great opportunities.

Oh, and don’t forget to support the Pennsylvania Film Industry Association, otherwise known as PAFIA! They’ve done a lot of things for all of us whether you realize it or not. By supporting the film industry, you’re supporting all sorts of businesses across the state. Go to www.pafia.org to become a member.

Hope to see you in NY!

Yours truly,
Carol Anne

Greetings!
It has just occurred to me that I start nearly every one of my blogs with something that points out that I haven’t written for a ridiculously long time. So I’m going to refrain from doing that again even though that is the obvious subtext. However, it’s not that I’ve been lazy. Indeed not! I’m sure it’s no surprise to all of you that I’ve shifted my networking attentions to Facebook since most of you are on it anyway. And if you happen to occasionally visit my FB page whilst stalling on doing your own work, then you may have caught some of my latest print and video work already. However, part of writing this blog is taking the time to thank all the people who continually inspire, encourage, and provide opportunities for me to do what I love to do.

Before I give my shout-outs, I’d like to direct you to some of the new updates on my site. I recently got together again with the wildly talented Christopher Kadish and had some new shots done since my hair is a bit longer now than in the ones we did last year. We (that’s the "royal we" since I pretty much just give my stuff to Bill and he works his magic) updated my demo reel page with a commercials-only reel and theatrical/corporate video reel (which is really just a longer version of what I had for those of you who don’t have A.D.D.) There’s a new link that introduces you to my beautiful family who are also available for your filming and photography needs. We’ve added more of my print work (do you have any idea how hard it is to get copies of that stuff?) and I’ve posted a more current resume as well. Oh, and don't bother checking out the "Behind the Scenes" link because that one isn't done yet but it will be worth checking back to see some fun candid photos of lots of colorful crew and cast while we're waiting for our close up. You might also notice the new listing for my NY representation, the charming, Peter Coe. Please note, I am still represented in Philadelphia by the lovely ladies of the Reinhard Agency -- M.G. Eisenhart (acting) and Emily Calvenese (print).

Fortunately 2010 has been pretty good to me. The boys are healthy and happy. Jonas is now 3 and Henry, my 5 year old has started kindergarten at Abington Friends School. We continue to work hard on the house when we get a spare minute here and there. And we managed to squeeze in a kids-free mini-vacay to New Orleans back in April. Many beads were earned, I’m proud to say. Work has been steady and I’ve had the chance to shoot with folks I’ve known for years as well as a whole slew of talented people I had never met before. I’m always grateful for the work that I get from Adam Bauser at Bauser Media Group, Brad Kenyon at Aurora Films, Pete Safran at SAI Global, the folks at Performance Development Group, and others. But now I can add some more great production companies to the list.

First of all, a huge high five goes out to the amazing staff at Blue Moon Studios. Talk about a well-oiled machine! Fred Vanore, Lisa Mulligan, Tony Scrittorale, Sharron Ardito, and Joe Orecchio are a wonderful team up there in West Patterson, NJ. I’ve been fortunate enough to be cast in commercials for the Pet Cozy (co-starring my cat, Duffy!), Trojan, Miyashi massage pillow, Skiddadle and yes, even a Snuggie spot. Thank you, Blue Moon!

I count my lucky stars that I’ve been able to regularly work for True Action/GSI Commerce as a petite model for Christopher and Banks stores. Once a month, I get to work and play with their awesome crew – Dana Derogatis, Sarah Duval, Krystal Lewis, Lauren Raske, and Jonathan Schimpf. They are a blast and have excellent taste in music for me to boogie on down to. GSI also had me do an NFL catalog cover which I believe comes out pretty soon for the Christmas season. Please note: I had no say in the wardrobe so I don’t want to hear about it when you see me in Jets gear. I could care less about football but I know who to root for, even if my allegiance is divided. I’m a Philly Girl through and through but I am married to a Mainer so…Go Eagles AND go Patriots!!! Hey, having Tom Brady on their team doesn’t hurt to get my cheer on.

Thanks to producer extraordinaire, Kelly Planer, I’ve also had the good fortune to meet Brian Noreika, Darryl Rentz and the great crew at DSK Media Solutions in Allentown. I did a Career Pathways video for them and, along with Charlie Roguskie from TMR Advertising, we shot a number of local commercials such as Owens Corning and Allen’s Audiology. I should also mention that Kelly is a fabulous musician in the blue grass band, Kelly Planer and the Perks.

Speaking of commercials, remarkably, this has been my year for them! I’m so lucky to have booked a Franklin Institute commercial directed by the truly wonderful Scott Whitham. Great to see some of my crew favs – Maureen McKenna, Adrienne Bearden, Dexter Wuest, Michael Confer and Sherri Hubbard, to name a few. Thank you, Heery Casting for bringing me in on this one.

I also did a Car Sense commercial with Dexter and Michael as well. Starred opposite the charming Damon Bonetti, who is awesome to work with. We had a blast shooting that spot in windy Burlington, NJ and despite the earring drama (yep, I threw an inside joke there) I think it turned out great. Another thank you to Heery Casting!

A big thank you to Ken Ryzner for introducing me to Tandem Learning. Stacey Blitz and Marcus Hswe are a pleasure to work with. It was also great to work with Frank Seigel again at VCS Video too!

I also need to thank Ken Ryzner who booked not only me on a print/video job for B. Braun, but also my handsome husband and my handsome Henry. Now how’s this for drama…we played a family who was in a bad car accident, rushed to the hospital and, with the aid of B. Braun medical equipment, we all miraculously lived. But it didn’t stop there. While Bill was pretty banged up and rushed to the ER via helicopter, poor Henry was laid out on a stretcher in an ambulance with a ruptured spleen, and my character, who was 8 months pregnant, had an emergency c-section! You’d think Jerry Bruckheimer was producing this one! Fortunately, Lee Cado was the incredible make-up artist and she made the wounds look so real – almost too real! My boys made me so very proud. A big congratulation goes out to Ken and his wife Amy for becoming parents this summer to a beautiful son named Dashel.

I did a few shoots for Center City Film and Video this year. Perhaps you saw my oh-so-genuine testimonial for a Rosenbaum and Associates commercial. Also did a couple of industrial films for them. It’s always a pleasure working with Ron Skoti, Mark DiBartolomeo and the rest of their team.

Shot some print and video footage for Benjamin Moore a few months ago with the Location 8 team. All those paint swatches inspired me to paint my own dining room which I did. Thank you, Dave Swajeski for keeping this a relaxed shoot, Laura Baldwin for the lovely make up, and it was great to see you, Ken Conly as well!

One of my favorite places to do voice overs is with Mike Simmons at MARS, and I did a few of them this year for Axiom. Thank you, Jenny Tessmer, for the opportunity to read almost an entire medical glossary of terms and live to tell the tale. Talk about a mouthful! But she brought cookies so it was okay.

I did a few corporate videos and a voice over for the gang at M3 Health. Super nice people who also like me to read teleprompter for hours at a time without flubbing. It’s cool, they keep me on my toes. They’ve got great people like Jenn Carlson, LeeAnn Fitzgerald, Gary Cuzzocrea, Ron Greenstein and Justin Farrar over there. Thanks guys!

Then there was David Trovato and his crew. Man, these guys are hilarious to work with! I did some spokesperson work for PGW and had so much fun. Thank you Jilda Ging Petrille for doing my pretty make up!

Many of you know the talented Neill Hartley and this year I’ve had the pleasure of working with him, and some other fine Philly actors like Kim Fairbanks, Sharon Geller, and Susan Moses on some live work in the classroom for University of Pennsylvania's bioethics students. Sort of like standardized patient work but more detailed and about 2 hours of improv work which is both challenging and rewarding and certainly helps to keep those acting skills honed.

Many of you saw my commercial for RC Heating and Air Conditioning. I shot this for My PHL 17 with Wendy Kaiser who really knows her stuff. Now I have to mention this because it’s so darn sweet...RC Heating and Air Conditioning is family-owned and operated by some really nice folks and when it came down to casting, it was the wife who insisted on having me in the spot. Later down the road, I spoke with the husband and he said that after the commercial ran, he had a customer say to him, “You know, when I saw your commercial, I liked the woman in it so much, I didn’t even research other companies. There was just something about her that made me go with your business.” Well, I don’t know who was more pleased, me or his wife who picked me!

I’ve been working a bit with Bryan Yingst and his Scooby gang at Knowledge Start. What they lack in studio air conditioning, they make up for in personality and ingenuity. Always a pleasure, Bryan! By the way, I’ve got a great air conditioning installer who could hook you up. See above. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!)

Now that the boys are a little older, I’ve started to hit the NY market. 2nd audition up there and I booked a national Constant Contact commercial which shot in August and is currently running. That was an amazing experience to shoot in NYC with a $300,000 camera in front of me. Pretty darn cool.

I got to do a couple of gigs with Propulsion Media this summer. The first was a spokesperson video for Career Minds shot at CI Communications in West Chester. Lots of text but we got through it seamlessly! Thank you Justin Shakelman for casting me in this. You and the Propulsion guys were super to work with! Then I got to do another RC Heating and Air Conditioning commercial with Propulsion when the spot decided to expand and go outside the My PHL 17 network. Thank you Barbara Sredenschek and Andrew Kunkle.

Performance Development Group kept me busy for a bit there. Thank you Michael Crosson for including me on some great gigs this past year. Rick Mitchell would have my head if I didn’t give him some props. Truth is, he’s great to work with and such a perfectionist.

I just recorded a national voice over spot for Dr. Scholl’s. Thank you Rob Holt at Mike Lemon Casting for bringing me in on that one. Rob Maloney from Cool Water Multimedia was a lot of fun to work with as well as the rest of the recording folks over at the corporate offices at Merck (who now own Dr. Scholl’s.)

I’ll bet you guys didn’t know I did a little teaching on the side. In fact, I just finished co-teaching an on-camera commercial class for kids at Mike Lemon Casting with Sharon Geller. What a wonderful experience it was with these 8-12 year olds.

I’ll bet you also didn’t know that short (well, 5’4”) and curvy me does a little platform modeling too. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago I was prancing around in some great INC petite clothes at a nearby Macy’s with some gorgeous Reinhard girls. The beautiful Mary Wheeler was one of them. Bonus: the make up ladies at the MAC counter did our make up for the occasion. Wow. I was working those red lips! Thank you dear Emily Calvanese!

Well, if you’ve made it this far into the blog, I thank you very much for hanging in there. And, much like when you sit patiently through the closing credits of a film and you get to see a trailer or extended bit of the movie that you weren’t expecting, I do have one piece of exciting news to leave you with. After a long break from live theater, I am finally hitting the boards again! I have recently been cast in a professional production of “The Little Prince” at Cape May Stage where I will be performing the role of The Rose for 6 weeks. And for all of you that don't want to make that hike to New Jersey (but think of how cheaply you could fill up your gas tank!), we then move the production for another 6 weeks to Bristol Riverside Theatre in Bristol, PA. Calendars and ticket information are already posted on their sites and I hope you all can come. The project is bound to be amazing. Scott Hitz of Monkey Boys Productions is directing and some of the cast includes Marc Petrosino, Lenny Haas and Michael Schupach who are all extraordinary performers.

On a side note, the shows in Cape May will only run Thurs – Sunday so I will be back in Philly and available for work Monday through Thursday (I just gotta hustle back for the show on Thursday night).

So that’s about it. I’m looking forward to working on this exciting theatrical production as well as seeing many of you on set in the very near future.

Have a happy Halloween and please don’t bring any extra candy on set where I might be. I’m already having to talk myself down from the Butterfingers.

Peace, love and puppets,
Carol Anne

Monday, October 19, 2009

Well, after almost a year and half, I am finally focusing my attentions back to my website. It’s not nearly as much fun as Facebook but probably more practical for the reasons I have this thing in the first place.

I could not possibly go back and note all the work I’ve done since my last blog. I’m happy to report that while there have been some highs and lows, I’ve been keeping busy. A lot of that includes some work from my old favorites like Pete Safran at SAI Global, Adam Bauser at Bauser Media Group, the guys at Performance Development Group, Ken Ryzner, Brian Connor and the Gang at Allied Pixel, Tina and Ed Fiorini, and Brad Kenyon at Aurora Films. I feel very fortunate to be able to work over and over again with such high caliber producers and directors.

Happily, there have been some new clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with this past year. Brian Yingst from KnowledgeStart, the folks at M3 Productions, Ken Michaud at Bozeken, Jenny Tessmer at Axiom, Brett and Aaron at Neo~Pangea, Scott Evans at Windstreet Energy and many more. Great shoots with talented casts and crews.

On a personal note, the boys are getting bigger (Henry is 4 and Jonas is 2 now) and are the sweetest, brightest, funniest little boys you’d ever meet. And I am absolutely not prejudice at all, of course. Here’s a picture from their Son Shine “school” taken a couple of months ago. Mind you, Jonas was sent to school wearing something much cuter than that t-shirt but there was an “accident” that day and his clothes were ruined. Also, I would like to mention that I did NOT choose that faux country background for them. That was entirely left to the photographer. ‘Nough said.

Now this is where I get to pimp out my husband, Bill Parker. Recently, Bill has been pursing production work, including learning all ends of that side of the camera (other than the camera itself, actually). So if you need a dependable p.a. or grip or gaffer, give Bill at shout at bill@bparker.com. I look forward to the day we are both working on set together. Also, and this goes especially for you actor and artist types, if you like this website and think you’d like to have one for your very own, or if you need a new edit of your demo reel done, then Bill is your guy.

So hopefully you’ll have noticed that I have finally gotten some new headshots that I can be proud of. Christopher Kadish is the photographer behind the camera. He was amazing to work with and I highly recommend him to anyone needing a photographer. You can find him at www.kadishphoto.com.

Next up for Carol Anne? Well, I’ve started to go up to NY for auditions and recently booked a website job for Walmart. It’s a great gig and is due to shoot at the end of the month (although shoot dates have changed a few times now). After that? Who knows…

Till then,

Carol Anne

I know, I know. It’s been a long while. Last we spoke, I was trying to balance the world on my shoulders, er, I mean, manage 2 small children, a career, and my sanity. And to a small degree, with the support of a wonderful husband, that’s what I’m doing with some semblance of respectability. However, things like time on the computer sort of got nixed in the process. Go figure.

The important thing here is that I did manage to update my website a bit. Well let’s be honest, Bill was the one who really did it but I like to think of myself as more of the creative director on this project while he was more of the technical guru. So once you’ve scanned over this blog, feel free to check out the new pages we’ve added. The new Say Cheese page has few of the print jobs I’ve done but if you think getting copies of acting work is hard, you should try getting print stuff. Enough said. We have also separated the video and voice over reels into two links: Take a Look and Give a Listen. The video reel is new and definitely a work-in-progress as more copies of my work come in. In the mean time, I think what we’ve put together is a good start and I hope you enjoy it. Constructive criticism is always welcome. But please be gentle.

I can’t possibly fill you in on all the work I’d done since I last blogged but I will point out some of the highlights:

Previously, I mentioned the then-upcoming Media Matrix shoot for Covance. It was a smooth operation in a lovely restaurant on South Street in Center City and I got to work again with a great guy and director, Michael Olenski. I had a fun scene with adorable Ana Gerena, who I normally only get to see at auditions.

I also had the pleasure of doing a few jobs for Adam Bauser from Bauser Media Group. Employaid is up and running and you can see 3 of my videos posted. My faves are the husband and wife scenes with Art Rubalcava who’s a helluva lot of fun to work with.

I did some print work for an incredible stock photography agency out of Japan called Anonymous Inc.. What a treat it was to have my lovely print agent at Reinhard, Jenna Adams, use her stylist skills on set. Anthony Rugnetta and amazing make up artist, Patty were also on hand to help me feel comfortable doing some really crazy poses. Hope to have copies of those soon, so check back here in a few weeks.

Got to work with a couple of husband and wife production teams the past few months. One of those teams was Tina and Ed Fiorini who produced an AstraZeneca video I was in along with talented ladies, Kimberly Fairbanks and Laura Cottrel. Here's a picture of Laura and me on the day of the shoot.

Went way up to Mt. Laurel, NJ to shoot a corporate video for KPMG with Frank Siegel from VCS Video and his super cool crew. John Costello and Jeff Ent were on hand to keep things running smoothly. Also got to work with charming Mark Rawson who made the day go by fast.

Ron Stanford continues to keep me busy with Cymbalta whenever the client needs to make some changes. It’s always a great pleasure to work with Ron as well as the guys over at Audio Post.

Another one of my favorite production teams to work with is Scott Whitham and Claudio Kuhn. I played a money-hurtin’ mom in a video for The PA Dept of Public Welfare.

I don’t normally mention doing extra work because frankly, I don’t like doing it. But times are tough and diapers are expensive so there I was on set for a long day in April doing a corporate video for Vanguard. Again, not really my thing but I had such a nice time catching up with Norm Dodge and Jeff Stupak that I didn’t mind sitting on my butt for 11 hours at all. I worked with Norm and Jeff on the film Renaissance way back when and hadn’t seen these guys in years! They are both such talented professionals and super fun to boot. Maureen McKenna, Beau from the art department, and very sweet make up lady, Linda were also there to help me enjoy the long day.

Another husband and wife team I worked with was Trevor Crafts and Sara Blann-Crafts from Full Mind Creative. I played a mom again in a Philadelphia Zoo commercial that should be out very soon. The fact that they were so kind and professional outweighed the drama of finding my car’s window smashed at the end of the shoot day. Incidentally, nothing in the car was taken. Not even the ipod, which I later realized my husband had left in the armrest compartment. Silly criminals. Teach them not to be thorough.

So those were some of the professional highs of the past 6 months. On a personal note, the family is doing great and keeping me über busy. Jonas just turned one and has been walking and climbing just like his monkey-brother Henry. Henry turned 3 in April and is potty trained and loves his brother, even though he still likes to wack him on the head any chance he can get. I also fulfilled a longtime goal, which was to finish the Broad Street Run. I may not have broken any records but hell, I finished it without stopping or slowing up one bit.

Congrats to tony sanders and his wife, Dorie Hamby who gave birth on May 29th to a baby girl named Kailyn Rose. I’m sure that kid will be singing and tap dancing in no time! By the way, if you’re ever in L.A. stop by tony and Dorie’s wonderful children’s theater, Shine.

I would also like to post another L.A. event for my friends John Dapolito and Ralph Guzzo. I’ve seen this play in N.Y. and it is brilliant. If you’re in the L.A. area, you should definitely check this out. Here’s the information:

The Odyssey Theatre invites you to the reading of Killer Midgets
Written and Directed by John Dapolito
Starring Kevin Anderson and Ralph Guzzo
Wednesday July 9, 2008 at 7:00pm
This is a FREE event
The Odyssey Theatre - 2055 South Sepulveda Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90025
Call the Box Office to reserve a seat (extremely limited seating available) - 310.477.2055

I’d also like to give a shout out to Spotlight Printing. I recently got some new headshots and thought my only reproduction option was ABC, which I think everyone has used as long as I can remember. Anyway, I stumbled across this company and was very happy with their service. The reproductions were top quality, I didn’t have to buy 500 of them, and their prices beat ABC. They were also very fast, easy to order, and treated me to some great customer service. Try them out next time you order your shots. You’ll thank me.

So there you have it. Hope to work with all of you again soon. In the mean time, enjoy some photos of the kids (see the links below) and have a wonderful summer!

I hope this update finds you all blissfully happy with your new year’s resolutions under way. For me, that would include losing that last 5 pounds of baby weight, teaching Henry to stop poking his baby brother in the eyes and getting Jonas to sleep through the night. I should mention that none of these resolutions are remotely close to happening. The weight thing might if I could get people to stop bringing chocolate and cookies to my house. You know who you are. If this doesn’t happen soon, an intervention might need to occur. Just be gentle and have some carob or something on hand to help me through the withdrawal.

Up until the typically slow month of December, biz-work hasn’t been too bad. We left off in September when I booked an industrial film with Bauser Media Group led by Adam Bauser and the team over at Riverview Studios in NJ. I always like working with these guys. And it’s a good thing because the very next week, I booked a 2-day shoot with them for AstraZeneca. I played “the good pharmacist” handling a motley group of customers. Lots of fun and when we tried to shoot in a real pharmacy, I learned that a pharmacy might actually be louder than an amusement park.

The following week, I played a nurse in a medical instructional video for ApotheCom in Yardley, PA. Thank you Rick Lang for the opportunity.

In October I booked an “informal” modeling gig at Nordstrom in October. You know, one of those events where a few models wear some designer’s very expensive clothing and traipse around the department store trying to get people to look at the clothes. I’ve done a couple of these (I’m always the petite model which surprises me) and they’re pretty fun except this past one had me in 4 inch Jimmy Choo heels. After 2 hours, I should have gotten an Oscar for the smile on my face. All I wanted to do was cry and rest my weary calves in a hot tub. Good Lord. I don’t care how hot Sarah Jessica Parker looks in them. Any heel over 3 inches should be illegal.

November was a good month for me. I did 2 jobs for QVC Product Works. One was for iHear, which is a device that amplifies your voice through a headset in the car. The other was for a special timer to use while hand washing and teeth brushing. Can’t remember what it was called but since I’m now trying to get my toddler to brush his teeth a little more thoroughly these days, it really was a cool little gadget. No, they didn’t give me one for free but I like working with John D’Amico and Cameraman Dave so much that I didn’t care. These are some great guys that don’t let something like 10 degree weather or wicked strong winds stop them from getting their shot. During one of the outside shots, I was sure Anderson Cooper was going to enter holding a penguin.

I also booked another job for Wyeth in November. It was a 2 day shoot where I played a manager and you know how I like to play the woman in charge. It’s always a pleasure to work with Brian Connor, Tom Shustack, Jeff, CJ and the rest of the crew at Allied Pixel. Also got to work with Stephanie Humphrey, Frank, and the woman who makes me look less like a tired mom…make up artist, Marianne Newton.

My pal Jeff Koch gave me a call this week to tell me he saw the Berlitz national commercial I shot last month. I also have some print work out there for Berlitz so be on the look out. I'm hoping to get some copies of the work and will post them here when I do. We conquered an ambitious shoot schedule at Lighthouse Studios in NJ directed by a really funny guy, Mr. “1-2-3” Burke Wood of Burke Wood Communications. The client, DANA Communications, was terrific and I very much enjoyed working with Jackie Ellis, Greg (didn’t catch his last name) and the sweet ladies from Berlitz. Bonjour! Hola!

Ironically, the day I shot Berlitz, my 6 month old, Jonas, shot his first commercial for Goddard Schools. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for going along as entourage. Talk about a proud family! I wasn’t there to see it for myself but I hear Jonas was a real pro and received the star treatment from A.D. Claudio Kuhn and the crew. I trained him well. Jonas that is, not Claudio.

So here we are in January. I'm looking forward to doing an industrial film shoot tomorrow with Michael Olenski at Media Matrix. I haven’t worked with Michael in years so this will be a nice treat especially since I get to play a bad-girl employee.

The Reinhard Holiday Party was held at Bistro St. Tropez again this year. The food was yummy and the atmosphere festive. Those Reinhard girls looked gorgeous as usual. Thank you, Virginia, for treating us to another wonderful party. I even managed to get out with my husband and NOT talk about the kids. Ah, bliss.

Oh, speaking of kids, did you think I would leave you without a few pictures of my sweet and quickly growing boys?

Till next time,
